Collection

So long as the parent child relationship is established and the support order for child support and medical support is established, monies need to be collected.  The support order must be paid monthly.

Child support and medical support payments may only be paid through CSEA.  Any monies paid on behalf of children not paid through CSEA are deemed a gift.  This means that the party ordered to pay support is not given credit for monies paid, if the payment did not get paid through CSEA.

In a newly established child support order, collections can occur through income withholding notices, derivative benefits from social security disability payments made to disabled parent/s or deductions from financial accounts.
